Memes are images that can engage the public and ease the tension from bad news. Its properties has been noticeable during the social distancing era.

This is a a meme I made and share during the quarantine. Through digital manipulation, I transformed the characters in Tarsila do Amaral’s painting Operários(1933) into Zoom portraits. Upon thinking about the visual similarities between telework and Tarsila’s iconic artwork, I was intrigued by how — even remotely — surveillance on the working class persists.
